About Dr. Liu In-Depth

Dr. Liu has had considerable training and practice in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with specialized doctoral study in acupuncture.

Before her arrival in the United States she was a practicing acupuncturist at Shanghai 6th People’s Hospital, a top hospital in the busy metropolis of Shanghai. In addition to work in the Acupuncture and Tuina Department, she also did rotations in several Western medical departments, including orthopedics, cardiology, ER, nephrology, radiology, neurology, and recovery.

Prior to her work as an acupuncture physician at Shanghai 6th People’s Hospital she furthered her undergraduate and Master’s degree study of TCM by attaining a Ph.D. in acupuncture from China’s premier school for the study of traditional Chinese medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Liu has practiced in the United States since 2015, and opened her solo practice, Sunshine Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, in River Falls, WI in 2016. As of April 30, 2020 Dr. Liu exclusively began practicing acupuncture at Compass Center for Healing in Stillwater, MN. Dr. Liu is happy to report that despite the move she continues to see many of her River Falls patients at the Stillwater location.
